About the founder

She couldn't find the right tool.
So she built it.

MyoPilot didn't come from a tech company. It came from an optometrist's exam room — one child, one family, one conversation at a time.

Dr. Christine Yeung, Optometrist and Founder of MyoPilot

Dr. Christine Yeung

OD · FIAOMC · IACMM · Founder of MyoPilot

Christine is an optometrist and the owner of two private practices, and one of them is devoted to a single calling: the Center for Ortho-K and Myopia Control.

For many, many years, ortho-k and myopia management have been her passion. But if you ask her why, she won't start with the science. She'll tell you what the science makes possible. A child's myopia is not a life sentence. With the right care, started early enough, its course can change. And she has seen it with her own eyes, one child and one family at a time, for most of her career.

That is the heart of it. That is where MyoPilot comes from.

It started with a seed, planted early.

The interest was there from the beginning. Early in her career, Christine talked about focusing on ortho-k and pediatric care — and, like a lot of young optometrists with a specialty in mind, found the idea gently set aside while the everyday realities of practice took priority.

But some interests don't fade. They wait.

She kept coming back to orthokeratology, and to the growing science of myopia management. She joined the community around it, building a long history with the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control. She put in the study and casework to earn her Fellowship of the International Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, and her International Academy Certification in Myopia Management. And she built her practices around the belief that this care should be done thoroughly, and done well — eventually dedicating an entire location to it.

She'd be the first to tell you none of it happened overnight. It happened the way most meaningful things do: gradually, and on purpose.

“I kept thinking: there has to be a better way.”

Dr. Christine Yeung, on the moment MyoPilot began

Behind the scenes, something wasn't working.

Christine loved the clinical side of myopia management. It was everything around it that felt harder than it needed to be.

To tell one child's myopia story clearly, she found herself bouncing between resources, websites, and calculators — pulling a growth chart from one place, a risk estimate from another, progression data from a third. The information existed. It just wasn't connected. And it certainly wasn't easy to share with a parent sitting across from her, trying to understand what it all meant for their child.

Because that conversation is the whole thing. When parents genuinely understand what's happening with their child's eyes — and can see it, simply — they don't need convincing. They become partners in the plan. They keep appointments, stay consistent with treatment, and stay the course over the years it takes.

She looked for a tool that brought it all together. It didn't exist. So, with no background in software and a full patient schedule, she decided to build it — shaped entirely by real days in a real clinic. That decision became MyoPilot.

The road to MyoPilot

The seed

An early interest in ortho-k and pediatric care

From the start of her optometry career, Christine knew where she wanted to focus — even when the timing wasn't right yet.

The practice

Her own private practice

She builds her own practice, caring for families and quietly growing the specialty she'd always been drawn to.

The craft

AAOMC, FIAOMC & IACMM

A long history with the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control, her international fellowship (FIAOMC), and her International Academy Certification in Myopia Management (IACMM).

The commitment

Center for Ortho-K and Myopia Control

She opens a second location dedicated entirely to orthokeratology and myopia management — a place families come to for exactly this care.

The better way

MyoPilot

Built from real clinical frustrations, MyoPilot launches in 2026 — bringing a child's whole myopia story into one place, and helping independent optometrists everywhere build the specialty she built.

Independent, on purpose.

Everything Christine has built, she's built independently. Two practices. A specialty. A patient community that chose her because of how she practices — not where.

She knows exactly what that takes. The evenings spent on things they don't teach in optometry school. The weight of every decision landing on your desk. And the quiet reward that makes it all worth it: caring for patients entirely on your own terms.

She also knows that independence isn't something you win once. It's something you sustain — by offering care that patients can't find just anywhere. For Christine, myopia management is exactly that kind of care. A specialty that's deeply needed, deeply valued by families, and best delivered by a doctor who knows their patients by name.

That's why MyoPilot was built with the independent optometrist at its heart. Not just to make her own clinic run better, but to help other independent practices build and grow a myopia management specialty within their own walls — with the kind of tools that used to require a team to create. Because when independent practices thrive, patients are the ones who benefit most.

Credentials, briefly.

She doesn't lead with the letters. But they're earned, and they matter.
